Standards and Testing

product-168-168

UL 4703 covers photovoltaic wire for interconnection wiring in PV power systems, including 600V, 1000V and 2000V voltage classes.[1]

The supplied product specification identifies the following test references:

Test Item
Reference
Flame propagation
UL 1581 VW-1
Sunlight resistance
UL 2556
Cold bending
UL 854

Finished cable voltage-test levels vary with cable size and voltage class. The specification lists 3–4 kV for 600V versions and 6–9 kV for 1000V and 2000V versions. The exact test voltage and duration should be confirmed in the approved inspection procedure.

Contact SINELINK to confirm certification coverage, cable marking and supporting test documentation for the selected conductor, size and voltage rating.

Typical Applications

This cable is intended for photovoltaic DC wiring in:

Residential rooftop solar systems.

Commercial and industrial rooftop installations.

Ground-mounted solar power plants.

Utility-scale photovoltaic projects.

PV module interconnections and string wiring.

Connections to combiner boxes and inverter DC inputs.

Approved underground and direct-burial cable routes.

Cable sizing should consider design current, voltage drop, installation temperature, grouping, routing and connector compatibility.
