Nine Steps to Verify a Solar Cable Certificate
1. Identify the Actual Certificate Issuer
Read the complete issuer name on the certificate, not only the word 'TÜV' or a familiar logo. TÜV Rheinland and TÜV SÜD, for example, maintain separate certificate systems. 4. Match the Certificate Holder's Legal Name
Compare the holder shown by the issuer with the legal entity named in the quotation, factory documents and payment instructions. A trading company may legitimately sell a manufacturer's certified cable, but the commercial relationship and product traceability must be documented. Do not silently assume that two similar company names refer to the same entity.
5. Match the Product Model and Cable Designation
Confirm that the offered model, family or type designation appears in the certificate scope or its controlled annex. Find the conductor sizes, conductor material, construction variants and any related annex referenced by the certificate. A certificate that covers 1.5mm² to 6mm² does not prove coverage for 10mm² or 16mm². If a range is shown only in an annex, request the complete controlled annex rather than approving a one-page certificate image.
8. Confirm Current Status and Issue Information
Check the status shown by the issuer on the date of review. Depending on the scheme, the record may show issue date, validity period, expiry date, revision, replacement or another status field. A PDF saved in a supplier folder may no longer reflect the current record. When no public result is available, ask the named issuer to confirm the certificate rather than relying only on the supplier's explanation.
9. Cross-Check the Datasheet, Jacket Marking and Order
The final check connects the digital record to the physical product. Compare the certificate scope with the approved datasheet, sample cable marking, conductor size, voltage marking, manufacturer/brand identification and purchase description. After production, use batch documents and incoming inspection to confirm that the delivered reels or coils correspond to the approved product.
