Product Overview
The PV combiner box combines 2–16 photovoltaic strings into a protected DC output. GSB-A and GSB-B cover 500VDC and 1000VDC maximum open-circuit voltage, with per-string current up to 20A, a DC output breaker and PV-specific surge protection.
Model selection depends on maximum string open-circuit voltage at the lowest site temperature, string current and the required number of inputs.

PV String Protection Basics
Cold temperature raises module Voc
Calculate maximum series-string voltage at the site minimum design temperature and keep it below every component rating.
String fuses protect against reverse current
Fuse need depends on parallel-string fault contribution and the module maximum series-fuse rating.
SPDs require short bonding paths
Long conductors add inductive voltage during a surge; coordinate SPD type, earthing and replacement indication.
Recommended Applications
- Commercial rooftop PV
- Ground-mounted solar arrays
- PV-plus-storage systems
- Distributed string collection
Installation and Maintenance
- Isolate array and output before service.
- Inspect fuses, holders and terminals for heat damage.
- Check SPD indicators after storms.
- Maintain cable-gland sealing and enclosure gaskets.
- Verify string polarity and current after changes.
Packing and Transport
Protect the enclosure, cable entries and internal components from impact and moisture during transport. Keep the packaging dry and secure the box against movement. On arrival, inspect the enclosure, door seals and accessories for transport damage before installation.
FAQ
Can GSB-A be used on a 600V Voc array?
No. GSB-A has a maximum open-circuit voltage of 500VDC. Select a model compatible with the maximum string voltage at the lowest site temperature.
How is enclosure protection maintained after wiring?
Correctly sized cable glands, sealed unused entries and intact door gaskets are essential to maintaining enclosure protection after installation.
Does the 20A rating apply to the combined output?
No. The 20A rating applies to each input channel. The combined output is subject to the ratings of the selected output breaker, conductors and terminals.
Are 16 channels standard for every unit?
No. The series offers configurable 2–16 input channels. The number of inputs is selected to suit your PV array.
