Typical Applications
- PV1-F solar cable is commonly used for DC-side connections in photovoltaic systems, including:
- Solar module string wiring
- Rooftop solar installations
- Commercial and industrial PV projects
- Ground-mounted solar power plants
- Solar combiner boxes
- Inverter DC input connections
- PV cable extension leads
- Solar cable harnesses with pre-assembled connectors
- Outdoor solar applications exposed to UV, heat, cold, and moisture
Selection Guide
1. Select the Cable Size Based on Current and Distance
For standard PV string wiring, 4 mm² and 6 mm² cables are commonly selected. For higher-current circuits or longer cable runs, 10 mm², 16 mm², 25 mm², or 35 mm² may be preferred to reduce voltage drop.
2. Confirm System Voltage Compatibility
This cable is rated for 1000V DC systems. Before selection, confirm that the solar modules, connectors, combiner boxes, inverters, and other DC-side equipment are suitable for the same voltage level.
3. Consider the Installation Environment
For rooftop, desert, coastal, or other harsh outdoor locations, select cable sizes and jacket colors according to site conditions, routing requirements, and installation standards.
Customization Options

Installation Notes
Use suitable PV connectors and approved crimping tools for cable termination. Avoid bending the cable below the specified minimum bending radius. During outdoor installation, keep the cable away from sharp edges, standing water, and unprotected mechanical contact points.
For large projects, cable route planning, voltage drop calculation, and clear DC polarity identification should be completed before installation.
PV1-F vs. H1Z2Z2-K Solar Cable
PV1-F and H1Z2Z2-K are both widely used single-core photovoltaic cables, but they are generally selected for different system requirements.
| Item | PV1-F Solar Cable | H1Z2Z2-K Solar Cable |
|---|---|---|
| Common Standard | TÜV 2PfG 1169 | EN 50618 / IEC 62930 |
| Typical DC Voltage Rating | Up to 1000V DC | Up to 1500V DC |
| Main Application | Conventional PV systems | Modern 1500V PV systems |
| Conductor | Usually Class 5 tinned copper | Usually Class 5 tinned copper |
| Insulation / Sheath | XLPO | XLPO |
| Outdoor Performance | UV, ozone, and weather resistant | UV, ozone, weather, and long-term outdoor resistant |
| Typical Use | Residential and smaller commercial projects | Commercial, utility-scale, and higher-voltage projects |
| Market Position | Established PV cable solution | More commonly specified for newer high-voltage PV projects |
PV1-F remains a reliable and practical solution for 1000V DC photovoltaic systems. It is widely used for module string wiring, rooftop installations, small commercial systems, and replacement projects where the existing design follows PV1-F requirements.
H1Z2Z2-K is generally preferred for new 1500V DC systems. Its higher voltage rating makes it suitable for larger commercial and utility-scale projects, where longer string lengths and higher system voltage can help reduce balance-of-system costs.
When selecting between the two models, the most important point is to match the cable rating with the complete DC-side system design, including modules, connectors, combiner boxes, and inverter input requirements. Product specifications may vary by manufacturer and certification scope, so final selection should always be confirmed against the project specification.
