This model provides the insulation performance and creepage distance required for those systems.

The advantage of 1500V design is straightforward: longer strings, fewer parallel branches, fewer combiner inputs, and lower copper cost. But those savings only materialize if every component in the DC path - including the connector - is rated accordingly. Technical Note

 

High-voltage connector performance depends not only on the nominal rating but also on field assembly quality. Proper crimping, full insertion, correct sealing, and matched male/female contact geometry are essential. In a 1500V system, even a small assembly error can create localized heating or insulation weakness over time.
